The Florida Board Certified Investigator (FBCI) has demonstrated to a committee of their peers that his/her credentials are deserving of the FBCI certification.

Qualifications include:

* Must be an "Active" Level FALI member in good standing, or Affiliate if meeting one of the other requirements below.
* A minimum three years of experience supported by:
Documentation confirming a minimum of three (3) years of licensed investigative experience including at least (1) year as a       Florida licensed Class C private investigator, under Chapter 493 of the Florida Statutes, or in place thereof,

Documentation confirming at least three (3) continuous years of similar duties as a full time investigative employee of an attorney, insurance company or law enforcement agency, whose position was exempted from Florida private investigative licensure, or in place thereof,

Documentation confirming not less than three (3) continuous years of similar duties as approved by the FBCI Board This includes, but is not limited to: Law enforcement certification courses, military law enforcement experience, continuous fire/arson investigations.

* A thorough knowledge of general investigative techniques, statutory issues and legal issues, exhibited through the passing of a proctored examination
* Three letters of recommendation from clients and/or investigative professionals
