Update, Create or Edit Your FALI Profile

Updating your member profile is really not that hard. Here is a step by step guide to walk you through the process:  Follow these steps below and see a Video demo here:

How to Update Your Member Profile

• Sign in to the FALI website, www.fali.org using your User Name and Password
• Once you sign in you will see "My Profile” on the right hand side
• Click on Manage Profile
• Go to Information & Settings
• Click on Edit Bio
• On the next screen, starting filling in the information in the following sections:

Specialty Codes - Check up to six Specialty and five background codes

Education/Experience

Social/Volunteer Organizations

You definitely want to make sure to check as many areas as are applicable in the speciality and background codes section to give potential clients an idea, at a glance, of the services you provide. However, the other three areas are the most important to tell them who you are, what you do and how you can help them. If you have a website then you probably gave a lot of thought to what you wanted to say. While you don’t want to duplicate your entire website, this is certainly an are where you can copy and paste an "abridged” version. Also, try to keep the language simple and to the point, avoiding to o much legal jargon so it is easy to understand. If you do have a website, make sure the link is included so they can click on it for more information.

The whole point is to give potential customers as much information about you and your qualifications as possible. If their geographic search gives them a list of 20 investigators some who have just a phone number and email address and others that have more comprehensive summaries, which do you think they are likely to pay attention to and potentially contact?

Including a photograph of yourself, or if you prefer, your company logo, will help you stand out to those browsing. This is much better than the generic silhouette picture that shows when you do not add an image of some type.

Again this is a relatively simple process however, we do realize that there are some people who aren’t very comfortable doing this sort of thing. Fear not, you can call the FALI office and we will walk you through the process and make it as painless as possible. 

It is definitely worth your while to take the time to complete your membership profile, and update it as needed. This is one of the benefits of membership that can come back to you over and over in the form of new clients.
