FALI Members and Friends--

WOW !! What a smashing weekend of learning and networking with fellow investigators and vendors.

If you didn't attend last weeks FALI 2013 Southeastern Professional Development Conference for Investigators in Orlando, you missed a tremendous opportunity !! I've attend many seminars, produced by many different organizations, but I've never been to one that gave me more for my money. We had a tremendous bunch of nationally recognized speakers; a great hotel with more than adequate facilities; not to mention the hotels personal attention to our every need.

This once-a-year event gets better and better every year. And, you ain't seen nothing yet ! Next year will be FALI's 20th Anniversary and conference planners are already hard at work to make sure the conference, to be held in Tampa, will be even better as FALI's celebrates 20 years of service to Florida's private investigators.

FALI opened the conference with the traditional posting of the nation's military flags, representing the five military branches of this country and this year, we added the thin-blue-line flag of law enforcement. It was a very moving moment as the attendees paused to show respect for and to honor those brothers and sisters who have defended our country in the military and law enforcement. A well deserved tribute and a great FALI tradition.  (see video here)

With three days of educational seminars to pick from, over 160 attendees had a wide selection of investigative-related seminars to attend. Add to the formal seminars, the golf tournament, pistol competition, and lots and lots of networking with people interested in our business, and this was a week to remember. We even had a one day, optional seminar by CynthiaHetherington, on how to improve your on-line investigations and due diligence.

Our Conference Chairman for the last few years, Rory McMahon, pulled out all the stops on this conference--and he surely deserves a big round of applause. And I know he is planning to out do himself at next year's Tampa event.

I can't wait !!

One last reminder--if you are a FALI member and you are not already asubscriber to the FALI Members News Group, you are missing out on a lot of potentialbusiness opportunities--not to mention the educational and networking possibility's. For the uninitiated, a news group is simply a way for a group member--or the FALI leadership-- to make a posting via email and have it delivered to all members of the group, a few minutes later. The posting canbe simply acomment you'dliketo make, a request for assistance in a distant location; clarification of a Florida statute, a business announcement or an upcoming educational opportunity--or anything of interest to the Florida private investigator community. This News Group is a member benefit and you must be a FALI member to participate in the group. If you are not a member of the news group and you'd like to join, simply go to theFALIweb page at:www.fali.org
Go to the bottom right hand part of the main home page and double-click on the "Yahoo Groups, Join Now" button.
