This month’s speaker is:
Todd Ulrich, Channel 9 Investigative Reporter
 Topic: Tips from an investigative reporter as well as television and
other resources for conducting fraud cases
The consumer unit at WFTV handles hundreds of complaints from central Florida consumers every month. Action 9 investigations expose consumer frauds, rip-offs, and scams that can cost citizens a small fortune. A recent investigation revealed how a prominent national charity based in Central Florida misled its donors. Other Action 9 investigations have exposed a nationwide modeling scandal based in Orlando, restaurants that routinely violated food safety rules, and contractors who put your home at risk.
Specifically, Todd's consumer investigations have won 11 regional Emmy awards for television excellence. Todd has also received several awards from the Society of Professional Journalists and the Associated Press.
A graduate of Ithaca College, Todd worked for several radio and television stations in Pennsylvania and New York earlier in his career. He has called Orlando and WFTV his home for the past 20 years.
About the meeting:
This is a FREE event is open to ALL members (or potential members) of
the investigative profession. The event is sponsored by the Florida
Association of Licensed Investigators (FALI) as part of our continuing
efforts to provide our membership with quality educational and
networking opportunities. FALI meetings held in the Orlando area are
made available for those investigators living or working in central
Florida and are open to ALL investigators across the state. Central
Florida Area meetings are normally held the last Tuesday of every
month.
Drinks after the meeting:
Feel free to stay, meet, mingle and network with other investigators
immediately following the meeting. This venue has a dedicated room for
us with overstuffed chairs and an excellent food and drink menu ..
