Guest Speaker:
Scott Wilson, IRBSearch
Scott Wilson, Director of Sales for IRBsearch, FALI member, and Private Investigator will be facilitating a discussion on Databases and Information Brokers, with an emphasis on Privacy and Data Security, Multi-factor Authentication, Open Source Intelligence searching, and a thorough look into the latest search platform features and benefits of IRBfocus. Scott facilitated a similar discussion at our Southeast FALI District and at the FALI Bootcamp event in Tampa, drawing positive reviews from those who attended – as a matter of fact, he was invited to go back to our Southeast District to facilitate a follow-up discussion at a future date. I encourage all investigators, members and guests, to attend as this will be a highly informative presentation. Although the presentation will be assisted with the use of a projector, if you would like a hands-on experience, you can bring your laptop, tablet, or smartphone to follow along. Scott will also demonstrate how multi-users are able to benefit using this new platform. This is going to be an exciting and informative meeting, so mark your calendars now! We have moved the meeting location to the Olive Garden across from the Avenues Mall to allow more room for attendees.
About the Speaker: Scott is a highly decorated retired Navy veteran. His enlistment spanned 20 years of service. Scott ultimately became the Bureau of Medicine and Surgery’s Enlisted Technical Leader for over 2500 Navy Medical Department Administrative Technicians, a coveted and highly responsible position that helps shape the future of the enlisted administrative support for Navy Medicine. After attending the Technical College of the Low Country in Beaufort, South Carolina, with an emphasis in Computer Science, Scott relocated to Tallahassee after his retirement from the Navy. After a short stint with the Florida Department of Revenue as a Research and Training Specialist, Scott accepted a position with the Florida Legislature as an Information Systems Programmer/Analyst in 1999. Scott eventually embarked on a career as a technical consultant in 2004, helping government and private organizations implement large scale Enterprise Resource Planning business management software. Eventually, Scott accepted a position as Network Administrator/Systems Administrator for IRBsearch. Noticing his attention to detail and exceptional work ethic, Scott assumed a new responsibility as Project Manager for a startup venture capital company. This new startup’s only project was opening Pensacola Bay Brewery in Pensacola, FL. Scott was responsible for managing this project from conception to completion. The venture capital company closed shortly after completing the brewery project and Scott was reassigned to IRBsearch as Director, Customer Care & Training in 2008. After reorganizing Customer Care & Training into a world-class service department, Scott was given the newly formed Sales team and eventually became the Director of Sales for IRBsearch in 2014. Scott believed in order to completely understand the needs of professional investigators he had to embark on a new journey. He obtained his CC PI Intern license in 2014. Scott hopes to bridge his computer technology skills with his learned professional investigative skills as a computer/digital forensics specialist, with an emphasis in data and privacy protection.
