ABOUT THE MEETING:
As stated in my earlier email we are trying something new for South Florida. Every other month we will meet in either Miami-Dade County or Broward County. This month – Miami-Dade. We will not have a guest speaker THIS time however, but we WILL have a "discussion meeting” or, as I like to call it, a. . .
"Mastermind Meeting!”
"What the heck is THAT?” you may be asking. According to Napoleon Hill who created the concept of mastermind groups for brainstorming, and wrote about it in his book, Think and Grow Rich it is:
"The coordination of knowledge and effort of two or more people, who work toward a definite purpose, in the spirit of harmony.”
So, let’s try this for our first Miami-Dade meeting. Together we'll ask questions, brainstorm ideas, share tips, advice and support each other in a mutually supportive and respectful way. If you are thinking, "I don't want to share my tips with other PIs, because they might get a piece of the pie that I already have,” then you should be aware that the more we share, the BIGGER the pie gets, and thus the bigger slice YOU get! It can only make us all better at what we do. Besides, this IS what an association is for – to come together as a group to learn from and educate one another.
Bring your ideas for talking points and questions such as:
- Sales tax - What services are taxable? Which ones are not?
- Income tax when working with CC’s and C’s
- Liability Insurance – who should carry it? How much do we need?
- FALI – questions and ideas for meeting topics
- Is the use of a GPS tracker legal?
- ANYTHING YOU WANT TO ASK OR SHARE!
There are probably lots of questions that many of you have. Write them down and I'll pull them out of a hat and give everyone, (especially our seasoned veteran investigators – and you KNOW who you are!:-)) an opportunity to answer or lead a discussion about them. You'll also have the opportunity to tell the group about you and/or your agency, i.e. what your specialty is. You never know, you might get some work out it! OR, you might find the investigator you are looking for to assist you in a current case.

ABOUT THE RESTAURANT:
We are very fortunate to have a restaurant that has offered to let us meet in their private room at NO CHARGE, in exchange for the business we bring to them. Let’s show our thanks by ordering from the menu or from the bar! If you are happy here, we will continue to meet here! Just remember, November will be in Broward County, and we will have a nice HOLIDAY party for both areas in December, somewhere in the middle! Be on the lookout for future announcements.

Members and non-members and guests are all welcome to attend! Feel free to invite your interns, colleagues or other security/ investigative / recovery professionals you may know such as process servers, Law Enforcement Officers, students and teachers of Criminal Justice and Private Investigative Programs. Spread the word – Spread the knowledge. SPOUSES are welcomed too!!
