Discussion of controlled substances including traditional illegal drugs, particularly marijuana, and cocaine, as well as, prescription drug abuse, and some of the currently used synthetic drugs. There will also be a general discussion of the effects of drug abuse on the family, crime, and all of society.

Retired Senior Special Agent (R/SA) Wayne J. Roques was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on June 25, 1945. R/SA Roques graduated from Saint Aloysius High School in 1963 and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing/Management from the Business Administration College of Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 1968.
In December 1969, R/SA Roques began his career as a federal criminal investigator with the Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs in New Orleans, Louisiana. R/SA Roques was transferred to New York and subsequently served as an assistant group supervisor for the New York Joint Task Force until 1974. In July 1974, R/SA Roques was transferred to Washington, D.C. and served until 1979 as the Class Coordinator for the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration's (DEA) Six Week Police Academy.
In September 1979, R/SA Roques was transferred to the Hartford, Connecticut Resident Office where he served as the assistant group supervisor. In November 1983, R/SA Roques was transferred to Miami, Florida and served as an acting group supervisor on the Vice President's Joint Task Force until October 1987. R/SA Roques served as an investigator and undercover officer in major trafficking, conspiracy, and forfeitures cases.
In October 1987, R/SA Roques was assigned as the Demand Reduction Coordinator for the Miami Field Division serving the Florida and Caribbean area. R/SA Roques received extensive training in the various areas of prevention from the top prevention experts in the United States. R/SA Roques has presented well over a thousand demand reduction programs to schools, workplaces, civic groups, youth groups, treatment facility staffs and clientele, college and professional sports teams, community coalitions, and local, state, and federal law enforcement, and governmental agencies. R/SA Roques has frequently been published, interviewed, and quoted locally, nationally, and internationally in print and broadcast media, including the Fox News Channel, MSNBC and RecoveryNet, on drug issues. He has presented drug training and education throughout the United States, the Caribbean, Canada, the Netherlands, and Sweden. R/SA Roques has testified before Congress on drug issues.
The area 10 meetings are returning! It’s time to network with other professionals in your area! As always, everyone is invited! Bring your wives, your husbands, your interns or other investigators you may know or anyone that would like to attend! Even though this is a FALI meeting, both members and NON members are always welcome to attend our meetings!
Here is the deal: This is a DINNER meeting. Everyone will choose off of the menu what they want and will pay for their meal on their own. The same applies to bar purchases.
WE HAVE TO HAVE A HEAD COUNT so PLEASE RSVP with a one word "Yes” or "No” so we get a room that will hold all of us!
Dinner will be served in our own private dining room from 6:00 to 7:30.
