Speaker: Rebecca Roberts of IRB Search and Johnston
Blakley of On-Track Investigations
Topic: GLBA and the Impact on PI's and Conducting a Professional Surveillance
Location: S2 Institute Time:
Dinner will be at 5:30PM at S2 -Presentation
begins at 6:00PM
The first presentation by Rebecca
Roberts of IRB Search, will explain how Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act: (GBLA) affects the professional private investigator. You do not want to miss this informative program.
Our second speaker will be Johnston Blakley is the president of On Track Investigations
Inc. in North Palm Beach, Florida and Investigative Training LLC., an on-line
private investigator school.
Several years ago, Johnston immigrated to the United States,
married his wife, Dana, and then in 1995, applied for a job as a surveillance
technician with a local PI agency. His
training involved riding with another investigator for two half-days before
being "thrown to the wolves".
On his first case, Johnston filmed an "injured" woman dancing
in a ballet. After her partner lowered
her back to the ground from overhead, Johnston knew that this was the right
career for him.
In 1999, Johnston and Dana started On Track
Investigations. The company has grown
into a statewide agency that handles many types of insurance defense
investigations.
In 2009, Johnston started a PI training company to combat
what he believes is a severe lack of training in the industry. "Most
agencies will either not hire talented interns due to training costs or when they
do, the PI intern mostly experiences "solo-training in the combat
zone"".
PI work and especially video surveillance requires a lot of
fast attention to detail in a variety of environments and Johnston has put
together a training class called 'SURVEILLANCE SITUATIONS' that will address
many issues that surveillance techs encounter.
This is the least formulaic specialty in PI work which can make it the
most difficult to learn, but being trained from someone who has done thousands
upon thousands of surveillances, you will reach a new level.
We will cover: - Case Intake
- The Pre-Surveillance
- The Setup
- The Follow
- Filming
- Client Update
- Making Money - The Surveillance Mill
"Video surveillance is the recording of truth",
states Johnston, "My camera records what God sees but from a different
angle".
For those attending there will be other investigators on hand as
early as 4:30 PM for early networking. Credit
for CEU’s for our Florida Certified Investigators (FCI) will be issued for this
