Certificates will be awards to those who successfully complete the program detailing the number of hours which may be used to satisfy continuing education requirements of other professional investigator organizations.

FALI-U attendees MUST be experienced investigators, or agency owners, who can prove, at least, three-years of experience as a private investigator, or in a related profession. Students are not eligible for this program. You do not have to be a member of FALI to attend FALI-U, however the program is only FREE for members.

AGENDA

Morning Session:

9:30AM - 12:30PM
"Comprehensive Open Records Research"

This three hour program is an in-depth study of the “best practices” of conducting comprehensive background investigations. Many investigators, unfortunately, provide their clients with investigative database reports in lieu of conducting actual background investigation. We will explore how doing so is a disservice to your clients as well as the profession of private investigators, as a whole. To that end, this course will delve into how investigators “should” conduct background investigations using both primary and third-party sources to verify the information provided to the client. We will also review the databases and resources available to investigators when conducting background investigations.

Training Objectives:

  • Introduce participants to “best practices” when conducting background investigations.
  • Establish how to best verify information.
  • Review some of the databases/resources available to private investigators.
  • Enhance how investigators communicate and present information to the client.

Lunch Break:
12:30PM-1:30PM

The hotel restaurant will be offering a buffet lunch for $18+ per person
Payable at restaurant.

Sponsor Presentation
1:30PM-2:30PM

Join Trans Union’s top expert and trainer for a deep dive focused on several of the most requested features that the TLOxp database platform provides to Professional Legal and Licensed Investigators.  Included is a thorough review of relationship reports, vehicle sightings, social media, and incarcerations and arrests along with some tips and tricks that participants will find useful and productive to quickly and cost effectively uncover comprehensive information and data investigators need for their cases.

  Afternoon Session:
2:45PM-5:45PM

“Social Media Research”

This course will discuss and explore the need for a “human-touch” when conducting social media research. Social media research is the often considered the process of locating, identifying and reviewing the Subject’s social media accounts for relevant evidence. However, an investigator cannot just stop with his/her Subject. Rather, this course looks at the necessity to go “beyond” the Subject as a means of comprehensively conducting social media research. As part of this course, we will conduct step-by-step case studies to examine how best to conduct social media research.

Training Objectives:

  • Introduce participants as to how to best approach social media investigations.
  • Explore popular social media platforms and less “popular” avenues of social media investigation.
  • Reviewing resources that our available to help with the documentation and preservation process.
