WHO? NCISS represents the interests of investigative and security professionals throughout the United States in Washington, DC. NCISS is composed of individual or company members and state association members. NCISS regularly hosts its recurring Legislative Advisory Board (“LAB”) coordinating strategy, information and support with state investigative and security associations across the United States
WHAT? The National Town Hall will be a summary of the current issues facing our industry. We will be joined at the outset by NCISS’s DC lobbyist who will provide what we know is on the DC agenda for 2021.This will likely include a discussion of the much anticipated US privacy law, COVID relief packages, Federal Court Record Access, and the possibility of a national GPS tracking law. In addition, we will also be discussing state issues including deregulation, public record access, reciprocity, and more. This will be approximately an hour presentation. We will then try to answer as many submitted questions as we can about the above or the function and benefits of being a member of NCISS.
WHY? Currently, NCISS has been monitoring a number legislative actions aimed at restricting access to public records, altering state licensing schemes, and creating new privacy laws which could affect our profession. These efforts have been at both the state and federal level. NCISS is attempting to reach out to those which will likely to be affected in order to build a coalition to address these concerns. NCISS has hosted a number of virtual meetings for state associations and its members. This meeting, is to educate, inform, and encourage all investigative and security professionals, regardless of membership, to rally to the current challenges and support the profession.
WHERE? This will be a virtual event that will be organized similar to a webinar hosted on Zoom. The above hyper-links are for video or audio access so you can join via laptop/desktop or phone. NCISS will accept written questions prior to the start of the webinar at wes@beardenonline.com. Questions will also be taken while in the webinar. Please submit your questions on legislative action items, NCISS activities or other professional related questions. We may not get to all of them. However, we will do what we can to answer your question or address its topic.
