AGENDA

9:30AM -  9:45AM
FALI Welcome & Announcements

Training Session 1: 9:45AM - 11:00AM
“Cellular Telephone Call and Tower Mapping for Investigations”

Presented by: Robert Wyman

In recent years, the utilization of historic cellular telephone call and location data has increased dramatically. At present, almost every high-value civil case and newsworthy criminal case is generating requests for phone companies to supply call history and location (tower) data. Such information is used to validate or invalidate a person’s proximity to an incident site, develop maps to illustrate a person’s movements in relation to a location or travel route of interest, and to establish detailed timelines, often in conjunction with other evidence, such as SunPass records or time-stamped receipts.

This presentation will acquaint Private Investigators with the terminology, records, procedures, methodologies, conclusions and exhibits regarding the analysis of historic cellphone records.

NOTE: This topic does NOT discuss cellphone handset forensic downloads. Cellphone mapping tasks DO NOT utilize the handset in any way; there is NO concern toward cellphone evidence handling, data corruption, chain-of-evidence issues, passwords or any other issues regarding the handset.

Training Session 2: 11:50AM - 12:45PM

"Lobbying 101: We ALL Play a Part in the Process."

Presented by: FALI Lobbyist Lauren Whritenour, Cynergy Consulting
FALI started in 1994 when several PI associations joined forces to be the voice for our profession in Tallahassee. Our Legislative Committee keeps a vigilant watch on bills that are introduced into the legislature every year which could impact and or be harmful to our Members. For years we have stopped bills which could have restricted our Members from conducting lawful investigations, as well as worked to pass those that help our profession. Both the Senate and the House chambers are familiar with FALI's visits to the Capitol every year. The membership is an important part of this process. Lauren will provide an update on FALI's legislative activities, and discuss how every PI in Florida needs to be part of the process to protect our profession.

Break #2 : 12:45PM-1:00PM

 Sponsor Training 2: 1:00PM - 1:30PM

During this training you will learn about advanced searches and techniques to increase efficiency and effectiveness in your investigations. Aleck is a leading trainer on specialized data assets and will demonstrate how advanced research techniques help investigators to quickly and cost-effectively uncover the comprehensive background information they need for their cases and transactions.
