Legislative Session 2024

The 2024 Florida Legislative Session will begin on Tuesday, January 9th and is scheduled to run through Friday, March 8th. FALI's Legislative Team will "Hit the Hill" on Tuesday, January 23rd. At that time they will visit with Legislators and their staff to discuss issues important to the PI profession.

Director Raymaker wanted to make you all aware that SB 1084, the Department of Agriculture Bill has been filed. Language specific to Chapter 493 begins on line 599.

While there isn't anything directly impacting the PI licenses there is a section regarding those who have their G license. As you will read when you click that link, language is being added as follows:

At the discretion of a Class “K” instructor, a Class “G” licensee may qualify for up to two calibers of firearms in one 4-hour firearm requalification class if the licensee successfully completes training for each firearm, including a separate course of fire for each caliber of firearm.  

Kudos to FALI member Bret Bartlett, who spearheaded this effort while serving on PIRSAC. We will follow the progress of the Bill as it makes it through Session.
