FALI LEGISLATIVE NEWS ALERT
SB 298, Companion to HB 151,
Filed by Florida Senator Greg Evers on behalf of FALI
As a follow-up to the alert from last Friday, we
are pleased to report that Senate Bill 298, by Senator Greg Evers, has
been filed as the companion to Representative Robert Cortes House Bill
151.
The next step in the process will be to get each
bill on the agenda for the appropriate committee, in each Chamber,
during their October Interim Committee meetings. Once this happens,
FALI members will be called upon to make contact with the members of the
committee to encourage their favorable vote.
The FALI Legislative Committee will provide a
list of contact information for the Committee members and some suggested
talking points. Your direct involvement is very impactful. Whenever you make contact with a legislator regarding this issue, you
should specifically reference SB 298 and HB 151. These are the bills that have
been filed on behalf of FALI, for the entire PI industry in Florida.
Once our lobby team
lays the groundwork, it is important for you to take the action requested, and that your
contacts with legislators remain positive, and supportive, of the overall effort.
Any questions can be directed to FALI President, Tim O'Rourke at president@fali.org
