As most of you, hopefully, know, this year's FALI Conference will be May 2-4, 2019 right here in Orlando. With our meetings regularly scheduled for the 4th Tuesday of the month, the week before the Conference, as well as Spring Break throughout March, we decided to change the date of the meeting.

Board Member, Paving the Way Foundation

Topic: What PIs Need to Know About Human Trafficking

Florida is 3rd in the nation when it comes to incidents of Human Trafficking. Over the last few years FALI as an organization, and many of our members, have become very interested in getting involved in investigations dealing with this growing epidemic. Paving the Way Foundation is an organization committed to being a fierce disruption in the cycle of child trafficking around the globe. This is accomplished through educational and training programs that empower communities to break the cycle. Join Chief Lopez as he shares important information that you need to know.


About the Speaker:
Joe Lopez retired as Chief of Investigations and Intelligence for the Florida Highway Patrol after 32 years. He is currently a Senior Manager for security at the largest theme park in Orange County. Lopez who was a 2018 candidate  for Orange County Sheriff, has over 37 years’ experience in the public sector and has overseen several aspects of law enforcement including violent street crimes task force, crowd management, SWAT operations and criminal investigations to include human trafficking. He has used investigative techniques, including undercover assignments, to help keep the citizens of Florida safe.  Chief Lopez served in the U. S. Marine Corps and is a native of the Bronx, NY.

We have in attendance as private investigators former and retired investigative reporters, law firm in-house investigators, attorney, insurance and adjuster field, medical field, Certified Public Accountants, Computer Forensics, Polygraph, military, federal agents, state and local law enforcement, and all aspects of the business world.

This is a Dinner meeting and we will be ordering from the restaurant menu. All attendees are responsible for payment for their own meals and beverages. the restaurant as a courtesy has provided us a reserved space. Show your appreciation by enjoying the restaurant’s fare. RSVP is a must to ensure that we have appropriate accommodations.
