While in the Law Enforcement and Corrections fields, I gained experience as a Field Training Officer for two agencies, a Gang Liaison Officer, a FL Dept. of Law Enforcement Certified Instructor, and an Inmate Disciplinary Investigator and Hearing Officer. After moving into the private sector, I became a Circuit Certified Process Server, a Cert. DrugWipe Instructor and currently is one of the few Instructors for required PI Intern course in Florida.
I hold a Master’s Degree in The Administration of Criminal Justice from the University of Massachusetts, was UMass' Most Outstanding Graduate Student in Criminal Justice (1994), a member of the CJ National Honor Society, graduated Cume Laude with a BS in CJ, and was awarded a scholarship while working as a Teaching Asst. for Dr. Larry Siegal at the UMass Criminal Justice Grad School. In early 1995 I completed my MA; my Thesis may found at the UMass Lowell's Library or read InvestigativeTactics.net.
I have been a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, the Elks, the Fraternal Order of Police, volunteered for two terms as the Public Relations Trustee while on the State Board of Directors of ABATE of Florida, Inc. (the 4th largest Motorcyclists' Rights Organization in America), served 6 years as the Executive Secretary for the Association of County Employees (the Union of the Plymouth County Sheriff's Dept.), and is currently a member of the Florida Association of Licensed Investigators and the National Association of Legal Investigators.
I have been in the private investigative sector since early 2007 after 17 years of combined experience in Law Enforcement & Corrections. I next spent almost 7 years as a Case Manager for a long-standing Investigations Agency, and opened my own firm, Investigative Tactics, in October 2013.
I am a FDLE Certified Academy Instructor, current Vocational Instructor teaching the State of Florida required PI 40-hour course (as well as availble for other classes), and have authored promotional exams for a SWFL Sheriff's Office in the past. Additionally, I am a CPR/AED Instructor and a Certified NRA Instructor.
I have been involved in investigations in both the civil and criminal courts, and litigation & cases involving a few dollars to millions of dollars.
