The Private Investigation, Recovery, and Security Advisory Council (PIRSAC) was established by the Department of Agriculture in accordance with Chapter 493.6104, Florida Statutes. It is composed of 11 members, each of who, is appointed by the Commissioner for a four-year term. The council meets at least four times yearly to advise the department and make recommendations relative to the regulation of the security, investigative and recovery industries. Tampa Area member, Bart Bartlett is currently in the middle of his 4 year term. At this meeting, Bret will update us on the latest activities of the council.
About the Speaker:
Bret Bartlett, owner and manager of Ex Umbra Defense Solutions,retired from the Tampa Police Department, in Tampa, Florida, with almost 32 years of service He served as a Patrol Officer through the rank of Captain. Bret's commands as a Captain include the Criminal Intelligence, Major Crimes , and Internal Affairs Bureaus.
Bret also served as the lead firearms instructor for the department, responsible for developing and delivering top-quality firearms instruction. He continues to teach firearms subjects to basic police recruit academies both for the Hillsborough Community College and Pasco-Hernando State College. Bret holds certifications as a police firearms instructor by the State of Florida Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission, and is a licensed State of Florida Firearms Instructor (K License). He is also certified by the National Rifle Association in numerous subjects. Bret is a Certified Firearms Specialist.
For those attending there will be other investigators and agencies on hand as early as 5:00PM for early networking. Credit for CEUs for the Florida Certified Investigators (FCI) will be issued for this meeting. Terry Roffler, FCI, will be available at the meeting to discuss how to become a Florida Certified Investigator (FCI) and the program.

6:30PM Meeting begins after dinner and networking.
We have in attendance as private investigators former and retired investigative reporters, law firm in-house investigators, attorney, insurance and adjuster field, medical field, Certified Public Accountants, Computer Forensics, Polygraph, military, federal agents, state and local law enforcement, and all aspects of the business world.
Spouses of investigators are welcome. Please feel free to invite a guest (Member or Non-Member). Please forward this notice to other investigators. You do not have to be a member to attend. this is a networking and industry related educational meeting. Call if you need further information.
This is a Dinner meeting and we will be ordering from the TGIFriday’s Menu. All attendees are responsible for payment for their own meals and beverages. TGIFriday’s as a courtesy has provided us a reserved private meeting room for the purpose of a Dinner business type meeting. Show your appreciation by enjoying the restaurant’s fare.
